Vietnam opens training course on handling police dogs for Cambodian police officers

The Mobile Police Command of the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam held the opening ceremony of a training course on handling of detection dogs for officers from the Ministry of the Interior of the Kingdom of Cambodia, on April 25, 2023, in Hanoi.

On the basis of the traditional, friendly and cooperative relationship between the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and the Ministry of Interior of the Kingdom of Cambodia, the Minister of Public Security of Vietnam assigned the High Command of the Public Security to organize a six-month training course for 22 trainees from the Ministry of Interior of Cambodia.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Deputy Commander of the Mobile Police Command Senior Colonel Nguyen Van Tram expressed his belief that, through the course, the trainees can acquire knowledge of detection dogs and have skills to handle dogs, contributing to fulfilling their tasks of maintaining order and security as well as preventing and fighting crime in the future.

At the same time, the cooperation activity helps strengthen friendship and solidarity between the peoples of the two countries in general and cooperation between the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and the Ministry of Interior of the Kingdom of Cambodia in particular.

The Vietnamese senior officer requested the training center’s staff and relevant cadres to conduct the course efficiently, sharing knowledge, expertise and experience with the trainees, using scientific and easy-to-understand training methods, and heighten their sense of responsibility in training Cambodian officers. 

He also underlined the importance of safety for humans and equipment during the training course.
