In response to the movement "Building on policemen’s qualities of bravery and humanity and dedication to the people", on April 21, the Thai Nguyen Provincial Police Division of Administration Management on Social Order came to Ban Ten hamlet, Van Lang commune, Dong Hydistrict, Thai Nguyen province to grant ID cards for free tolocal elderly and ethnic minority people.

Ban Ten, a remote hamlet of Dong Hy district, is home to 120 households, and all residents are of the H'mong ethnic group. Almost all the 120 households are poor, including 7 extremely poor ones.

From early morning, over one hundred H'mong people residing in Ban Ten hamlet gathered at the hamlet's common house. They listened to police officers’ legal dissemination and applied for their ID cards.

Lieutenant Colonel Lang DucTrung, Deputy Head of the Thai Nguyen Provincial Police Division of Administration Management on Social Order said that most Ban Ten's residents are under educated so they had no ID cards nor expired ones.

He also said that, within a morning, the unit successfully issued ID cards to 147 people. Many old people are illiterate, so the police officers had to read the papers to them and then asked them to sign them by pressing their finger-prints.

On this occasion, the Thai Nguyen Provincial Police Division of Administration Management on Social Order in collaboration with the Youth Union Chapter and the Women Union Chapter of the Thai Nguyen Provincial Police visited and presented 12 million VND to Mrs. Ha Thu Huong, residing at Hung Son town, Dai Tu district.

Huong is in a very difficult state. Her husband passed away while she is suffering from an end-stage cancer, and her two children also have serious diseases.
