Public Security Inspectorate receives First-Class Fatherland Protection Order

PSNews – The People's Public Security Inspectorate on May 26 in Hanoi held a solemn ceremony to celebrate its 50th Traditional Day (May 28, 1967 - May 28, 2017) and to receive a First-Class Fatherland Protection Order from the State Department.

Senior Lieutenant General To Lam, Member of the Politburo, Secretary of the Central Public Security Party Committee, Minister of Public Security chaired the Ceremony.

Present at the event were also Phan Van Sau, Member of the Party Central Committee (PCC), Inspector General of the Governmental Inspectorate; Vo Van Dung, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Head of the PCC Commission for Internal Affairs; and representatives of other Central agencies.

High-ranking delegates from the Ministry of Public Security included Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Thanh, Member of the PCC, Deputy Minister of Public Security; Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Son, Deputy Minister of Public Security.

Addressing the event, Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Luu, Inspector Chief of the People's Public Security Inspectorate Commission recalled the 50-year proud history of the sector’s development, saying the organizational structure of the force has been continuously strengthened and developed as a complete system from the ministerial level to the local one.

At the event, Minister To Lam proposed that the People's Public Security Inspectorate Commission should continue to well perform its core missions of assisting the leadership of public security units of the equivalent level to implement state management of inspection, settle complaints and petitions, deal with citizens, and prevent corruption and wastefulness.

 "The inspectors must constantly improve their professional skills, to be the most exemplary in moral qualities,” stressed Minister To Lam, “The force should enhance the movement “Studying and following President Ho Chi Minh's thought, morals, and style”; place on top the interests of the country, the people and the organization; and deserve President Ho Chi Minh’s teaching "Inspectors should serve as eyes and ears of the leadership, but be friendly to the subordinates".”

“At the same time, the force should bring into full play the comprehensive strength of all functional units inside or outside the sector and closely coordinate with all people in performing the inspection tasks,” said Minister To Lam.

The Minister of Public Security then asked the inspection sector to strictly and promptly handle acts of corruption and waste in accordance with the laws, emphasizing that there are no “restricted areas” in inspection work.

At the event, Government Inspector General Phan Van Sau awarded the medals "For the cause of inspector" of the Governmental Inspectorate to Minister To Lam, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Thanh and Senior Lieutenant General Pham Dung, former Deputy Minister of Public Security.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Thanh also presented certificates of merit of the Ministry of Public Security to groups and individuals of the People's Public Security Inspectorate Commission for their excellent achievements.

Over the past 50 years of history since its foundation and during its development, the People's Public Security Inspectorate Commission has been awarded with many noble orders from the State, the Government and the Ministry of Public Security.
