Public Security Forces pay tribute to President Tran Dai Quang- a devoted leader of Vietnam

With more than 43 years serving in the Public Security Forces, including 20 years holding various important positions in the leadership and command system of the Public Security Forces, President Tran Dai Quang has always been a typical example of the infinite loyalty to the Party, the Fatherland and Vietnamese people. 

General Quang has always kept a heroic combat spirit and exerted all-out efforts for the revolutionary ideal and goals of the Party, for a peaceful and happy life of the Vietnamese people. 

The State funeral and national mouning for late Presisent Tran Dai Quang began at the National Funeral Hall, No.5 Tran Thanh Tong, Hanoi on September 26. His coffin was covered with the national red flag and placed solemnly in the middle of the National Funeral Hall. 

The State funeral is held by the Party Central Committee, National Assembly, State Presidential Office, Government and Vietnam Fatherland Front Central Committee.

* On the morning of September 26, a delegation of the Central Party Committee of Public Security and Ministry of Public Security, led by Senior Lieutenant General To Lam, Secretary of the Central Party Committee of Public Security and Minister of Public Security, paid tribute to late President Tran Dai Quang. 

Minister To Lam wrote touching words in the funeral notebook as follows: 

"The Central Party Committee of Public Security together with all officers, soldiers, non-commissioned officers and civilian officials would like to express sincere condolences on the passing of General, Professor Tran Dai Quang, Politburo member, President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, an excellent leader of the Vietnamese people, an outstanding commander of the Public Security Forces, a typical example for the infinite loyalty to the Party, Fatherland and Vietnamese people. 

The Public Security Forces always remember the President and follow the President’s instructions, and commit themselves to serving as a sharp and precious sword, an absolutely loyal force and a firm, reliable support for the Party, the State and people as well as a key force in maintaining political security and social order.  

May His soul rest in peace!"

*The same day afternoon, a delegation of Public Security Newspaper led by Major General Pham Van Mien, Editor in Chief paid the last respect to President Tran Dai Quang at the National Funeral Hall.

Expressing the sentiment of the whole staff of the newspaper for the President, Major General Pham Van Mien wrote in the funeral book: 

"All leaders, reporters, soldiers and workers of the Public Security Newspaper feel deep regret about the decease of General Tran Dai Quang, Politburo member, President of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam, a master, a commander, a brother and a great friend of the Public Security Newspaper. 

Although the President has turned to dust, His great mind, spirit and contribution will live forever with the country, Vietnamese people and the Public Security Forces. 

May He rest in peace!"

*The memorial service of the State funeral for President Tran Dai Quang on September 27 began with the eulogy of Party Chief Nguyen Phu Trong. He summarized the career and contribution of President Tran Dai Quang within about 10 minutes. 

After that, on behalf of the whole family of HE Tran Dai Quang, his son made a speech to send sincere thank to the Party, the State, the Government and Vietnamese people.
