Postgraduate Department of PPA received Third-class Fatherland Defense Order

PSNews - The Postgraduate Training Department of the People's Public Security Academy (PPA) under the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) on Tuesday held a ceremony to receive a Third-class “Fatherland Protection” Order and open a new postgraduate course.

Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Thanh, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Minister of Public Security attended and delivered a keynote speech at the event.

So far, the PPA has offered 27 master’s courses and 22 Doctoral courses, and presented the Master of Laws degree to 2,540 students and the PhD in Laws degree to 251 students.

A number of holders of PPA postgraduate degrees are holding important positions in the Public Security Forces. Some of them have left the Public Security Forces and become senior leaders of the Party, the State, ministries and localities. Many of them have been entiled by the State as Professor or Associate Professor.

For the 5 consecutive years from 2013 to 2018, the Postgraduate Department of PPA has been awarded the title of “Excellent Unit”, including 2 years by the MPS,  and 7 Certificates of Merit from the Prime Minister, the Minister of Public Security, the Ministry of Education and Training, the Ministry of Defense and the People's Committees of provinces and cities.

In recognition of the department’s achievements in recent years, on October 12th, the State President signed a decision to reward a third-class “Fatherland Protection” Order to the Postgraduate Department of the PPA.

Speaking at the ceremony, on behalf of the Central Party Committee of Public Security and leaders of the MPS, Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Thanh hailed the achievements that generations of the staff of the department have gained over the past 25 years, especially in the 2013-2018 period.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Thanh affirmed that these achievements have proved that the postgraduate training of  the Public Security Forces in general and the PPA in particular has followed the right direction, meeting the requirements of the tasks of national security protection.

He also asked the graduates to effectively apply their knowledge and skills acquired during the training and research into their practical work to improve the quality of their task accomplishment, and to further complete theories on the struggle for national security protection.
