Polices forces in North and North Center asked to brace for possible natural disasters

PSNews – The Ministry of Public Security’s Office just issued a new dispatch requiring the Public Security Forces (PSF) to proactively respond to possible calamities in the upcoming days.

The dispatch was sent to the Steering Committee for Climate Change, Natural Disaster Prevention and Control, and Search and Rescue under the Ministry of Public Security, the Police Departments of the provinces in the Northern and North Central coastal provinces, the High Command of Mobile Police, the Department of Fire Police, the Department of Traffic Police, the Police Department of Management of Prison, Compulsory Re-education Center and Reformatory and other relevant units.

According to the National Center for Meteorological and Hydrological Forecasting, due to the impact of a trough, the North and North Central regions may have rains while some areas may experience strong winds, hail and tornadoes.

To effectively respond to possible calamities, the Ministry of Public Security’s Office asks all above mentioned units to :

Strictly implement dispatches on weather developments from the Permanent Office of the Central Steering Committee for Disaster Prevention, the Office of the National Committee for Search and Rescue; and follow directions of the Ministry of Public Security and local authorities on responses to possible dangerous weather phenomena, especially heavy rains, flash floods and landslides.

Develop plans to respond to possible calamities; ready forces and means for rescue missions upon requests.

Closely monitor developments of rains, whirlwinds and hail via the mass media to proactive take appropriate measures, ensure safety for people and assets as well as for the police forces.

Assign forces to be on 24/24h duty, periodically report on Ministry of Public Security’s Office situations of localities and developments of the weather.
