Policemen’s saving of a fainting boy at football match praised

The police officers received various compliments from netizens for their action.

In the photo taken by reporters, Captain Tran Duc Giang, Captain at the Mobile Police Office under the Provincial Police Department of Nam Dinh, holding an unconscious boy with his fingers put in between the boy’s teeth ran through a huge crowd toward the emergency room of Thien Truong Stadium during a recent football match between Nam Dinh and Hoang Anh Gia Lai. The photo was then posted on social media and received much interest from cyber communities.

On the afternoon of August 4, Nhat, aged 4, accompanied his parents to Thien Truong Stadium to watch the football match. The stadium was crowded in the afternoon.

As the atmosphere was stuffy there, Nhat fainted and was convulsive.

Second Lieutenant Tran Quang Dat of the Nam Dinh Fire Police Office, Second Lieutenant Bui Manh Cuong and Major Sergeant Phan Quoc Viet from the Nam Dinh Drug Police Office who were on duty nearby ran to the little boy and gave him first aid. But the boy was still unconscious. The policemen asked Captain Tran Duc Giang and Sergeant Tran Thanh Hieu from the Nam Dinh Mobile Police Office to take the boy to medical section in the stadium.

While holding the sick boy to doctors, Captain Giang recognized the boy convulsing continuously. He decided to put his fingers in between the boys teeth preventing him from biting his tongue. The case was recorded by reporters who were working at the stadium.

Thanks to the timely and efficient save, Nhat quickly recovered and then returned to his parents after the match.

The photo went rival on social media and the action of the policeman received many compliments.

“In such an emergency, the policeman acted by his heart. If I were the boy’s father I would thank him for saving his life, a total stranger to him”, a comment reads.

The Director of the Nam Dinh Provincial Police Department on August 5 praised the five policemen, including Captain Giang, for saving Nhat.

Nguyen Hong Nhung, Nhat’s mother, expressed her gratitude to the policemen and doctors for saving her son.

Senior Colonel Pham Van Long, Director of Nam Dinh Provincial Police, praised the actions of the policemen, which contributed to ensuring security and order for the match, and creating good images of the Police Force.
