Police highly appreciated for achievements in building new rural areas

PSNews - Ministry of Public Security on January 11 held a conference to summarize the implementation of the National Target Program on Building New Rural Areas in 2017 and preliminarily review one-year implementing the Regulations on Coordination between the Department for "All people protecting National Security" movement and the Central Coordination Office on New Rural Development.

Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Son, Deputy Minister of Public Security, Head of the Steering Committee of Public Security for Implementation of the National Target Program on Building New Rural Areas in the period 2010-2020, chaired the conference.

Senior Colonel Bui Quang Chi, Deputy Director of the Department for "All people protecting National Security" movement reported that in 2017, the public security force has implemented strictly and effectively the tasks assigned by the Government and the Central Steering Committee for National Target Program on Building New Rural Areas.

Local police units have actively given advice to the authorities to swiftly resolve emerging contradictions and disputes related to land; launched intensive campaigns to attack crimes and suppress social evils while the rate of successfully solved criminal cases in rural areas has increased and the movement "All people protecting National Security" has been conducted practically in parallel with the emulation movement "The whole country join hands in building a new countryside" and the campaign "All people unite to build new-style rural areas and civilized urban areas."

In 2017, the Department for "All people protecting National Security" movement (under Ministry of Public Security) and the Central Coordination Office on New Rural Development (under Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development) have implemented effectively the Regulation on Coordination, especially in ensuring security and order and building new rural areas. Hence, the political security situation, social safety and order in rural areas has been maintained, contributing to successfully implementing the National Target Program on Building New Rural Areas.

Speaking at the conference, on behalf of leaders of the Ministry of Public Security and the Steering Committee of Public Security, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Nam recognized and highly appreciated the results of the implementation of the Regulations on Coordination between the Department for "All people protecting National Security" movement and the Central Coordination Office on New Rural Development. He also praised the efforts of the police force in implementing the working coordination regulations.

The Deputy Minister agreed with 7 key tasks set out by the Steering Committee of Public Security in 2018 and stressed that, in order to achieve the National Target Program on Building New Rural Areas, the police force should take those tasks as their regular and continuous missions.

Deputy  Minister Nguyen Van Son urged the police force to promote public information dissemination so that people can understand and follow the policies and laws of the Party and the State while paying due attention to building and strengthening the commune-level police force.

The Deputy Minister also asked the Department for "All People Protecting National Security" movement and the Central Coordination Office on New Rural Development continue to give recommendations to the leaders of the Ministry of Public Security and Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to help the two Ministries better serve the people.
