The working session was attended by Deputy Chief of the MPS's Office Major General Nguyen Hong Nguyen as well as representatives from various professional departments under the MPS and the leadership of the Phu Tho Provincial Police Department.
According to the summary report on its task fulfillment during the first six months of the year, the Phu Tho Provincial Police Force proactively monitored the local situation and effectively served as an advisory body for the Provincial Party Committee, the People's Council and the Provincial People's Committee of Phu Tho. This enabled the local authorities to issue numerous directives, resolutions, plans and documents to successfully execute the guidelines and policies of the Party and the State regarding national security and social order and safety.
The provincial police guaranteed absolute safety for key targets as well as political, economic, cultural and social events across the province. Notably, they ensured the absolute security of the Hung King Temple Festival and the Hung Kings' Death Anniversary in 2026, which marked the largest iteration of the event since the province's administrative consolidation. The unit also proactively advised the Provincial People's Committee to organize a conference on securing social order during land clearance operations to support the province's double-digit economic growth goals, an initiative highly recognized and praised by the MPS leadership for its proactive and decisive direction.
In the fight against crime, the Phu Tho Provincial Police Department deployed fierce and synchronous measures, successfully investigating and dismantling numerous complex criminal syndicates and cases. The unit received a letter of commendation from the MPS leadership for its outstanding achievements in smashing a criminal gang operating under the guise of local businesses, and was commended and rewarded twice during the high-intensity campaign to suppress crime.
Furthermore, the Provincial Public Security Force successfully investigated and cleared 702 criminal cases violating social order (accounting for 95.25% of the total), and arresting more than 1,400 suspects. The successful investigation and clearance rate for very serious and particularly serious crimes reached 98.05%. The force prosecuted 83 cases involving 148 suspects for economic, corruption, and environmental crimes, and detected and intercepted 398 cases involving 758 narcotics-related offenders.
Notably, after one year of operating the two-level local public security organizational model, the Phu Tho Provincial Police Department has now stabilized its administrative apparatus, ensuring smooth and highly efficient operations. The frontline role of the commune-level police force continues to be maximized in situational intelligence, territorial management and resolving security issues directly at the grassroots level, thereby maintaining local stability and reinforcing a solid "people's security posture."
Delivering his keynote instructions at the session, Deputy Minister Nguyen Ngoc Lam acknowledged and commended the Phu Tho Provincial Police Force for its outstanding achievements in the first half of the year, particularly in safeguarding national security, maintaining social order, and controlling crime. He highlighted that the local police had succeeded in preventing the formation of security "hot spots" and avoiding passive or unexpected situations, which has directly fostered local socio-economic development.
For the coming period, Deputy Minister Nguyen Ngoc Lam required the Phu Tho Provincial Police Department to continue innovating its leadership approaches, focusing heavily on advising and executing targets linked to double-digit economic growth, Resolution No. 57, digital transformation, and the Government's Project 06. He emphasized the need to step up the application of science, technology and innovation in public security tasks and to actively participate in realizing local socio-economic development goals.
In terms of Party building and force building, the local police should focus on building a truly clean and strong Phu Tho Provincial Police Force while strictly tightening internal discipline and order.
On behalf of the provincial force, Director of the Phu Tho Provincial Police Department Major General Nguyen Minh Tuan thanked the Deputy Minister for his directives. He pledged that the Party Committee and the Directorate of the Provincial Police Department of Phu Tho, and all police officers and enlistees will stand united to effectively execute all assignments in 2026, determined to excellently guarantee public safety, and efficiently serve the socio-economic development and foreign affairs missions of the province.
