The Nghe An Provincial Police Department organized a conference evaluating the local police’s task performance results in 2023 and rolling out the 2024 work plan.

Present at the meeting were Deputy Minister of Public Security Lieutenant General Le Quoc Hung, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Council of Nghe An province Thai Thanh Quy, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee and Chairman of the People's Committee of Nghe An province Nguyen Duc Trung as well as representatives from agencies under the Ministry of Public Security. 

In 2023, the local police continued to improve the quality of all aspects of its work and achieved oustanding work results.

The local police forces mobilized the entire political system to participating in protecting national security and maintaining public order while developing the "For Homeland Security" emulation movement in both breadth and depth, contributing to ensuring order and security and promoting socio-economic development in the province.

The Nghe An Provincial Police Department also led local police forces to synchronously and drastically take preventive measures to reduce crime rates; as a result, the crime rate in 2023 was lower than in 2022, while the clearance rate of cases was high, including 100% of the very serious cases cleared. 

In particular, 27/27 border communes and district-level localities have been free from drugs, and the model is now carried out in 195 other communes, wards and towns in the province.

For their achievements in 2023, the Nghe An Provincial Police Department was honored by the Prime Minister with the “Excellent Unit in Emulation Movement” Flag while 688 subunits and 2,546 officers received awards from various authorities.

Speaking at the conference, Deputy Minister Le Quoc Hung and Secretary Thai Thanh Quy both praised the local police for their achievements in 2023. 

They recognized that the police in Nghe An had contributed largely to the overall achievements of the People's Public Security Forces as well as the Party organization, government and people of Nghe An province.

Under authority of the Prime Minister, Deputy Minister Le Quoc Hung presents the Prime Minister's Certificate of Merit to Deputy Director of the Provincial Police Department Senior Colonel Le Van Thai, the title of Best Fighter in Emulation Movements of the entire People's Public Security Forces to Deputy Director of Nghe An Provincial Police Department Senior Colonel Tran Hong Quang.

Deputy Minister Le Quoc Hung requested that the Nghe An Provincial Police Department proactively advised the Provincial Party Committee, People's Council, People's Committee as well as authorities at all levels on plans to prevent, stop, and handle possible security and order issues in the province while focusing on Party building, force building and development of the commune-level police force.

The local police should also ensure security on border and sea routes, religious security, economic security, network security, and internal political security.

The deputy minister requested the local police to pay special attention to maintaining order, security and safety in the province during the Lunar New Year of the Dragon.
