Nghe An Police active in action month against drugs

PSNews – During the action month against drug-related crimes (June 2018), the Provincial Police of Nghe An successfully investigated 231 cases and arrested 276 persons involved, seized 12.23 kg of heroin, 28 pills of synthetic drugs, 29.4 kg crystalline drugs, 70 g of opium and various exhibits.

Particularly, the Provincial Police of Nghe An successfully investigated 5 major drug-related cases from June 27 to July 4, arrested 8 persons involved, seized 24.5 packs of heroin, 5 kg of crystalline drugs, 250 pills of synthetic drugs and a K59 gun.

For their achievements, the Provincial Police of Nghe An have been praised by the MPS and the Provincial People’s Committee thanks. Meanwhile, the detoxification of drug addicts also gained various fine outcomes.

In spite of the efforts, the situations of drug-related crimes still remains complex, according to Senior Colonel Nguyen Manh Hung, Vice Director of Nghe An Police. A number of  major drug rings appear to operate from Laos to Nghe An while drug-related criminals become more dangerous and react violently against the police force when they are detected.

In the time to come, in addition to the professional tactics in fighting drug-related crimes, the Provincial Police will direct its subordinate units to coordinate with other relevant forces and people as well as the press to promote anti-drug dissemination among people from all walks of life, especially students; create and develop anti-drug models to mobilize the joint strength of the political system in the prevention and fight against drug-related crimes and social problems.
