MPS opens training course for chiefs of under-ministerial and provincial-level departments

PSNews - The Ministry of Public Security (MPS) on October 23 opened the 2nd training class on public security regulations, military skills and martial arts at the Public Security Academy for chiefs of under-ministerial department and northern provincial-level police departments.

Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Thanh, member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Minister of Public Security, and Head of the Organizing Committee for public security regulations, military skills and martial arts training attended the event.

Speaking at the event, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Thanh stressed that strengthening and improving effectiveness and quality of the training of public security regulations, military skills and martial arts in the public security forces is one of the key tasks of building a professional, elite, disciplined public security force, and firmly protecting national defense and ensuring security and order.

The Deputy Minister also said that in recent years, the Public Security Central Party Committee and leaders of the MPS have paid due attention to the training of public security regulations, military skills and martial arts; as a result, public security agencies and units have gained important achievements.

However, he pointed out a number of discipline problems and wrongdoings within the forces in the past time. Therefore, increased training and checks of the practice of public security regulations, military skills and martial arts are very necessary in the current situation.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Thanh suggested that, in order to improve quality of the training of public security regulations, military skills and martial arts, all the trainees should uphold their sense of responsibility and well complete the program. After the training program, they should continue to disseminate the knowledge and spirit of the training to all officers and soldiers of their units, contributing to making a positive change in practices of public security regulations, military skills and martial arts across the entire public security forces.
