The support of the Vietnamese MPS to build police station in border villages has showed the close-knit and very special ties between the 2 police forces.

By the end of 2021, 7 police stations in 7 Lao border villages in  Bolikhamsai and Khammouan provinces had been built and handed over to the Lao police by the Ha Tinh Provincial Police Department.

The projects to build police stations for the Lao police in bordering villages have demonstrated the close cooperation and good relationship between the Vietnam’s Public Security Forces and Lao Public Security Forces, contributing to strengthening relations between the two countries as well as to building a borderline of peace, stability and development.

It is known that the project to build police stations for Laos is the realization of a deal signed by the two sides in Vientiane on August 9, 2021.

What is more, the project is also stated in the Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation in drug prevention and control between the two ministries.

The building project was implemented by police departments of the 10 provinces bordering Laos from Dien Bien to Kon Tum.

According to Lieutenant General Thongleck Mangnomeck, Deputy Minister of the Ministry of Public Security of Lao, the support of the Vietnamese MPS to build police station in border villages has showed the close-knit and very special ties between the 2 police forces.

He affirmed that, this is a valuable and important support, contributing to preventing and combating crime in the Laos-Vietnam borderline. It also shows the care of the Party and State leaders as well as the leaders of the MPS of Vietnam to the people living in the border area. In the coming time, Lao hoped the Vietnam side would support to build 46 police stations in key villages.

Meanwhile, Vietnamese Deputy Minister Lieutenant General Nguyen Duy Ngoc stressed that, the synchronous and quick construction of police station has shown the practical and effective cooperation between the two ministries in particular and between the two countries in general.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Duy Ngoc hoped that, these friendship projects would help to strengthen the coordination between the two police forces in ensuring security at the border areas and fighting against crimes, especially transnational drug trafficking crimes. Moreover, it would contribute to preserving the peaceful life for the people and consolidating the solidarity and special ties between Vietnam and Laos.
