Ministry of Public Security reviews Firefighting and Rescue capacities for APEC Summit Week

In implementing the master plan of the Ministry of Public Security on ensuring absolute security and safety for the APEC Summit Week and relevant events, the Da Nang Municipal Fire Police has drawn up several plans on fire safety and assigned forces to be ready handle possible large and complex fire and explosion incidents in all localities.

The unit has disseminated and instructed local accommodation establishments, petrol and oil stores businesses and transportation companies with high risks of fire and explosion to seriously deploy fire prevention measures and check fighting facilities. Especially,  the city’s fire police have asked transportation companies to stop transporting chemicals and inflammable goods during the APEC Summit Week.

The Da Nang Municipal Fire Police also rolled out fire safety plans at the hotels accommodating the APEC Summit Week participating delegates as well as all event venues; at the same time, it collaborate with other agencies to carry out several drills on anti-terrorism, seaport security and emergency situations at the airport.

Major General Doan Viet Manh praised the efforts of the Da Nang Municipal Fire Police and pointed out the important tasks that the fire police need to carry out in order to ensure absolute safety and security for the APEC Summit Week 2017 running from November 6 to 11 in Da Nang.

On the same day, the inspection delegation also checked the fire prevention and firefighting facilities at some hotels and convention centers serving the APEC Summit Week in Da Nang.
