Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and National Security Council of Thailand seek to boost cooperation

PSNews- A delegation of the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) led by Lieutenant General Bui Van Nam, Deputy Minister of Public Security, held talks with a delegation of the National Security Council (NSC) of Thailand led by Mr. Pakorn Srichanngam, Assistant to the NSC Secretary-General, on the afternoon of September 20, in Hanoi.

At the meeting, Deputy Minister Bui Van Nam affirmed that, in the past time, the Vietnam-Thailand traditional friendship and strategic partnership have been constantly strengthened and developed in all aspects.

In particular, the cooperation between the two countries’ functional agencies has been strongly promoted in order to concretize and effectively implement the agreements between the two countries' leaders.

Deputy Minister Bui Van Nam stressed that from July 16th to 19th, the MPS of Vietnam and the NSC of Thailand successfully organized the 9th Vietnam-Thailand Joint Working Group (JWG-9) in Bangkok. This meeting has achieved many good outcomes, contributing to consolidating the cooperation between the Governments of the two countries in general, the two ministries and functional branches in particular.

On this occasion, Deputy Minister Bui Van Nam proposed that the NSC of Thailand, especially the Assistant to the NSC Secretary-General Pakorn Srichanngam, pay close attention to and effectively direct the Thai side to effectively realize the cooperation agreements reached by the two sides at the JWG-9; and at the same time, prepare new cooperation contents for the 10th Vietnam-Thailand Joint Working Group on Political and Security Cooperation held in Vietnam in 2018.

Mr. Pakorn Srichanngam sincerely thanked the MPS of Vietnam and Deputy Minister Bui Van Nam personally for the good sentiment and fine reception. He expressed his hope that the MPS of Vietnam and the National Security Council of Thailand will continue to consider new cooperation areas while continuously consolidating the bilateral cooperation, to contribute to the friendly relations between the two peoples and Governments.
