General To Lam, Minister of Public Security, on June 8 worked with the Department of Security Industry under the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) on the security industry sector as well as business and production of security enterprises.

At the meeting, Major General Nguyen Khac Cuong, Director of the Department of Security Industry briefed the Minister on the security industry sector’s task performance over the past time, saying that in the context of the COVID-19 pandemic, security enterprises have made great efforts to overcome difficulties in their production and business.

The Department of Security Industry actively advised upper level leaders to promulgate relevant legal documents in order to create a strong legal corridor for the development of the security industry sector and security businesses in the coming time.

The department also re-arranged MPS-run enterprises in line with the security industry development strategy while maintaining production and fire safety at the security industrial parks.

Addressing the meeting, Minister To Lam spoke highly of the security industry sector’s efforts and achievements in performing its tasks over the past time.

Regarding its key missions in the coming time, the Minister asked the Department of Security Industry and MPS-run companies to pay attention to working out an overall scheme on the security industry sector's development and modernization until 2025 with some development orientations for 2030 and a vision for 2045.

The Minister requested security industry enterprises to review their production and business, while expanding joint ventures and cooperation with domestic and foreign enterprises to attract more investment sources and seek more markets and business partners.

They should also invest in production technologies and equipmentas well as promote technology transfer to enhance productivity and product quality.
