Minister To Lam spoke highly of the good outcomes gained by the Ambassador during her term of office, saying such fruitful results have contributed to promoting the bilateral relations between the two countries in general and between the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and Australian partners in particular.

He also extended congratulations to the newly-elected Australian Prime Minister Anthony Albanese and hoped that the relations between the two countries would bear more fruits in the coming time, especially when the two sides are planning to establish the “Comprehensive Strategic Partnership” in 2023 on the occasion of the 50th Anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations.

The Party and State leaders of Vietnam always attach much importance to the Vietnam-Australia relations, Minister Lam said and hoped the two sides would continue to effectively implement the signed agreements, closely coordinate in handling regional issues and support each other at multilateral forums.

He also highlighted the good outcomes in cooperation between the MPS of Vietnam and Australian law enforcement agencies. According to him, the two sides regularly exchanged a number of expert and high-ranking delegations to share experience in preventing and combating various types of economic crime, drug-related crime, high-tech crime, terrorism and human trafficking.

Minister To Lam expressed his hope that the two sides would continue to realize the Memorandum of Understanding on police cooperation on organized crime prevention and control, Minutes of the 2nd Deputy Ministerial Security Dialogue, signed in Hanoi in 2019, as well as make preparations for the 3rd Security Dialogue, which is expected to take place in Australia in the third quarter of 2022.

Ambassador Robyn Mudie pledged she will make further contribution to the bilateral ties and support for cooperation between the Public Security Ministry and Australian security and law enforcement agencies for national security of the two countries, and prosperity and mutual interests of the two nations.
