Minister Luong Tam Quang works with MobiFone

Member of the Politburo and Minister of Public Security General Luong Tam Quang hosted a working session with MobiFone Corporation to review its business operation after the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) officially took over the responsibility for representing the corporation’s ownership, on the morning of April 15, in Hanoi.

Deputy Minister of Public Security Lieutenant General Nguyen Ngoc Lam also attended the meeting.

According to reports at the meeting, following the transfer, MobiFone submitted its revised Charter on Organization and Operations.

Additionally, the corporation completed and submitted relevant documentation to the Prime Minister requesting a formal recognition of MobiFone as an enterprise directly serving national defense and security.

In implementing directions of MPS leaders, MobiFone is working on a development strategy for the 2025–2030 period with a vision toward 2045, which includes a comprehensive, accurate assessment of its capacity, opportunities and challenges as well as its strategies and orientations for its development in the new phase.

At the working session, delegates discussed both advantages and challenges for the corporation’s operation, and proposed a number of approaches to boost MobiFone’s growth in the future, such as expanding partnerships with both domestic and international firms to seek business opportunities, enhancing its technological capabilities and optimizing its human resources and infrastructure to break into new development domains.

Addressing the working session, Minister Luong Tam Quang hailed the efforts of MobiFone’s leadership and key personnel during the transition process.

The Minister affirmed that the transfer of MobiFone to MPS demonstrates the Party and State’s special attention to the corporation, wishing that it would play a core role in advancing national security industry, and speeding up scientific and technological innovation and digital transformation in the public security sector in accordance with Resolution No. 57 of the Politburo.

To meet this end, Minister Luong Tam Quang urged MobiFone to focus on leveraging its core strengths to develop high-quality telecommunications and technology products and services that serve its business objectives and national interests.

Additionally, the Minister also requested that the corporation should build a firm legal framework to facilitate its operation, while removing obstacles and create favorable conditions for MobiFone to develop fast and sustainably as a national security enterprise.
