In 2017, the Hung Yen Provincial Police excellently performed their tasks, maintaining local security and order, denying and unexpected situations and protecting absolute safety for various important political events of the country and province, said Senior Colonel Do Dinh Hao, Director of the Hung Yen Provincial Police Department.

The key factor contributing to the success of the provincial police was that leaders of the police department attached much importance to improving the quality of implementation of basic police professional work. Additionally, the provincial police also mobilized the participation of the whole political system for the prevention and fight against crimes, said Senior Colonel Hao.

The local police also discovered and seized a record amount of drugs in 2017. Particularly, the Investigation Police Office of Drug-related Crimes of the Hung Yen Provincial Police Department on 5 October, 2017 arrested Nguyen Thanh Binh (resident of Minh Khai ward, Ha Giang city) and seized an amount of heroin equivalent to 7,000 grams in a joint operation with Division 5 under the Police Department of Drug-related Crimes.

As a neighbouring province of Ha Noi, Hung Yen has much potential for complex criminal activities.

Over the year, people in Hung Yen have provided some 2,000 pieces of valuable information about crimes, helping the local police successfully investigate and handle 727 cases relating to 1,284 subjects.
