Ho Chi Minh City Police Department applies digital transformation to crime prevention and control

PSNews - Recognizing the importance of digital transformation as an inevitable trend and objective requirement for development, the Ho Chi Minh City (HCMC) Police Department has effectively implemented the directions of the Ministry of Public Security and the HCMC People’s Committee on digital transformation over the past time.

Accordingly, leaders of the HCMC Police Department have directed relevant units to apply digital transformation into their crime prevention and control work for years and started the digital transformation process since 2020.

Currently, the HCMC Police Department has been implementing many programs and projects on applying science and technology to its practical work, contributing to effectively preventing and combating crime, reducing the crime rate and ensuring security and order in the city.

Notably, the HCMC Police Department has built and put into operation a Command Information Center with a digital mapping system, a system of smart security cameras and an integrated database center.

All the applications and software have effectively supported police leaders of police of all levels under the HCMC Police Department in supervising and directing their units to perform assignments, while data from the integrated database has helped track offenders and violated vehicles, contributing to successfully investigating numerous criminal cases in the shortest time.

 In addition, the HCMC Police Department has also applied Project 06’s applications as well as MPS's professional software into the work of crime prevention and control, while proactively building infrastructure in support of internal digital transformation.

In the coming time, the HCMC Police Department will launch an emulation movement on application of digital transformation and Project 06 into police work, mobilizing all local police officers to enhance application of digital transformation and Project 06 to all police working aspects in the city.

Further, leaders of the police department will further promote digital transformation in its internal working system, as well as step up the building of information technology infrastructure, upgrade the shared database system, the system of digitalized data of the HCMC Police Department.

The HCMC Police Department will also effectively implement plans and solutions to ensure absolute information safety and cyber security for the local police networks.
