Historical Site of Gia Lai Provincial Public Security Agency inaugurated

PSNews - On the occasion of the 73rd founding anniversary of the People's Public Security Forces (August 19, 1945-2018), the Gia Lai Provincial Police Department has inaugurated the Historical Site of the former Gia Lai Provincial Public Security Agency, also known as Police Station No.12 of the Krong Liberated Townlet, in Krong Commune, Kbang District.

In the resistance war against American invaders, the Krong revolutionary base, formerly called the revolutionary base “Zone 10”, was the headquarters of the Gia Lai provincial revolutionary authority for 20 years (1955-1975). In April 1962, the Gia Lai Provincial Party Committee decided to establish the Gia Lai Public Security Agency in Krong Commune, Kbang District.

During the war, although the enemy used all means to destroy the revolutionary base and the public security unit, but thanks to the support and protection of local people, the Gia Lai Public Security Agency in collaboration with the military forces resolutely  fought against the enemy and successfully protected the Krong revolutionary base.

Following the national tradition "When drinking water, remember its sources" and to pay tribute to the previous generations of public security officers, the Gia Lai Provincial Police Department constructed the Historical Site of Provincial Public Security Agency and the Stele of the Police Station “No.12” of the Krong Liberated Townlet (1973-1975) within the historical relic network of the former Gia Lai Provincial Party Committee at Zone 10 revolutionary base in Krong Commune, Kbang District.

The whole project was built on an area of 2,000 square meters, including Stele of Gia Lai Public Security Agency (1962-1975) and other auxiliary items. The construction started on June 24 and completed after nearly 2 months.
