General Department of Police celebrates its traditional day

PSNews – The General Department of Police in collaboration with the Public Security Television held a ceremony on July 12, to celebrate the 55th traditional day of the police force (July 20, 1962-2017) in Hanoi.

The ceremony saw the presence of Senior Lieutenant General Le Quy Vuong, Deputy Minister of Public Security; Lieutenant General Tran Van Ve, Acting Director of the General Department of Police; Lieutenant General Phan Van Vinh, Hero of the People’s Armed Forces, former Director of the General Department of Police.

Speaking at the ceremony, Senior Lieutenant General Le Quy Vuong praised the great contributions and sacrifices of the police force in protecting and maintaining peace and happiness for the people. The Party, the State and people always recognize and highly appreciate dedication and contribution of the police force.

In 2007, the police force was awarded the title “Hero of the People’s Armed Forces” by the State President. In 2012, the police force received a Ho Chi Minh Order.

On behalf of the Central Public Security Party Committee and the Public Security Ministry, Deputy Minister Le Quy Vuong expressed deep thanks to relatives of police martyrs, wounded officers, Heroes of the People’s Armed Forces as well as typical examples of the force for their silent dedication and bravery.

He also stressed that the task of protecting national security and preserving social order and safety in the new revolutionary period is very important. Therefore, he urged all police officers and soldiers to promote past achievements to successfully fulfill all assignments.

The police force should support the Central Public Security Party Committee and the Ministry of Public Security in advising the Party and the State on key policies relating to crime prevention, social order preservation.

At the same time, the police force was also asked to improve its State management of social order and safety work, thoroughly grasp and well implement laws.

In particular, the police force should actively implement Resolution 4 of the 12th Party Central Committee; Directive No.05 of the Politburo on studying and following the thought, morals and style of President Ho Chi Minh, and continuously intensify the movement "Building image of the brave and human police officer in the people's heart".

Deputy Minister Le Quy Vuong instructed the police force to closely cooperate with people, other armed forces, ministries, functional units at all levels to build a clean and elite force, deserving the trust and care from the Party, the State, people.

At the ceremony, Deputy Minister Le Quy Vuong and Lieutenant General Tran Van Ve presented flowers and gifts to Heroes of the People’s Armed Forces, relatives of police martyrs, wounded soldiers, and typical models of the force.
