According to delegates at the meeting, from now to the Lunar New Year 2021, the COVID-19 pandemic will continue to affect the security and order situation in the localities along the southwest border. What is more, a large number of Vietnamese expatriates currently living, working, and studying abroad will come back to the homeland. A surge in the number of immigrants will probably lead to crimes such as illegal border-crossings through trails or openings and human trafficking.

In that circumstance, the police forces of the southwestern provinces should proactively prepare plans and take measures to deal with possible situations.
