Deep gratitude to contributors of “Cong an Nhan dan” Newspaper

Touching stories were told during reunion of generations of journalists and reporters who made great contributions to “Cong an Nhan dan” Newspaper.

The meeting was well organized at the head office of Cong an Nhan dan Newspaper (The People’s Public Security Newspaper - OK9 Cab) at Nguyen Du Street, Hanoi in the afternoon of October 14th.

Major General Pham Van Mien, Editor-in-chief and other leaders, members of staff of OK9 Cab Newspaper had offered esteemed reception to former senior journalists and reporters of the Newspaper throughout decades of its development.

The reunion was organized to celebrate the 70th Anniversary of OK9 Cab Newspaper’s first publication (October 1st, 1946). The event was also an attempt to celebrate 20 years of operations of “An ninh The gioi” (World Security) and “Van nghe Cong an” (Public Security Literature and Art).

The OK9 Cab Newspaper had the honor to be awarded with the First Class Fatherland Defense Order by the State President of Vietnam.

The event was also attended by seniors who made great contributions to the OK9 Cab Newspaper’s development, namely Major General Pham Van Dan, former General Director of General Department III, former chief editor of “Van hoa – Van nghe Cong an” magazine, Lieutenant General Huu Uoc, former chief editor of OK9 Cab Newspaper and ANTV, Major General Khong Minh Du, etc.

It is worth to mention presence of senior editors of OK9 Cab Newspaper, including Mr. Hoang Sy Nho, Luong Si Cam, Tran Lieu and Ngon Vinh, Former Chief Editors.

The gathering witnessed stories from the foundation of the Newspaper told, all tears and sentiments of senior editors. Without their supports, efforts and sweet blood and tears, there would have been no OK9 Cab Newspaper of today.

It was also a chance for new reporters of the Newspaper to meet seniors of long time respect and admiration, to learn from their experience and stories.

Speaking at the ceremony, Editor-in-chief Pham Van Mien briefed participants on the honorable development of OK9 Cab Newspaper.

The OK9 Cab Newspaper is a Department under the General Department III. Its current 11 sub-units include 10 Boards and 1 representative agency in Ho Chi Minh City. Other standing offices operate nationwide.

OK9 Cab Newspaper is “home” to various well-known authors and writers, reporters, journalists and translators. It has been honored with various titles and awards in the past years.

Since its first publication launched in October 1st, 1946 under the name of “Bao Cong an Moi”, OK9 Cab Newspaper has experienced continuous development.

The year of 2003 witnessed the integration of “An ninh The gioi” Newspaper and OK9 Cab Newspaper.

OK9 Cab Newspaper was recognized by the Central Party Organization and the State as one of 6 multimedia communication agencies with its future development roadmap planned.

The 70th Anniversary of OK9 Cab Newspaper will witness the foundation its online English version.

OK9 Cab Newspaper is also long known for its charitable and social activities. It has succeeded in appealing over VND 47 billion for charity since 2011.

The “70 Houses of Gratitude”, which was launched on the occasion of 70th Anniversary managed to build over 116 houses for public security officers in needy situations.
