Decisions on organization and leadership of Department for Information and Communications of the PSF announced

PSNews – The Under-Ministerial Department for Information and Communications of the Public Security Forces (PFS) on August 15 held a ceremony to announce decisions of the Minister of Public Security on the posting of its leading positions, its functions, missions and organizational structure.

Pursuant to the Government's Decree No. 01/2018 / ND-CP dated August 6, 2018 defining the functions, missions, authorities and organizational structure of the Ministry of Public Security, and to the decisions by the Standing Board of the Central Public Security Party Committee and leadership of the Ministry of Public Security at the meeting on August 9, 2018 on personnel work, the Department for Information and Communications on August 15 announced a number of decisions of the Public Security Minister on the posting of its leading positions, its functions, missions and organizational structure.

The Department for Information and Communications of the Public Security Forces is mainly constituted of the Public Security Newspaper, Center for Radio, Television and Film, and the Publishing House of the Public Security Forces.

According to Minister of Public Security’s decisions, the Department for Information and Communications’ leadership will consists of 14 high-ranking public security officers.

According to the decision on the department’s leadership, Major General Mai Van Ha, former Deputy Director of the General Department of Politics, and Director of the Center for Radio, Television and Film of the Public Security Forces has been appointed as Director of the Department for Information and Communications of the Public Security Forces.

He also continues to hold the position of Director of the Center for Television. Major General Ha is in charge of the department’s general affairs, force building, Party building, political and ideological education, and personnel work.

13 officers, appointed as Deputy Directors of the Department for Information and Communications, include: Major General Pham Van Mien, who will also be Editor-in-Chief of the Public Security Newspaper; Senior Colonel Ma Duy Quan; Senior Colonel Nguyen Huu Phuc; Senior Colonel Tran Kim Tham; Senior Colonel Pham Quang Khai; Senior Colonel Tran Thanh Phong; Senior Colonel Nguyen Quang Vinh; Senior Colonel Hoang Xuan Quang; Senior Colonel Dang Lan Dung; Colonel Nguyen Thuy Quynh; Colonel Tran Cao Kieu; Colonel Bui Anh Tuan; Colonel Nguyen Anh Tuan.

According to the Minister of Public Security’s decisions, the Department for Information and Communications will have 10 main branches, including 4 functional bureaus (General Office, Political Division, Division of Logistics, Division for Press, Media, and Publishing Management); 1 representative office in the South; 3 public non-profit units (Public Security Newspaper, Center for Television and Publishing House of the Public Security Force); Center for Radio; and Center for Film. The department will have 21 total sub-units.

Addressing the event, Major General Mai Van Ha, Director of the Department for Information and Communications spoke highly of the efforts of the leaders, officers and workers of the Public Security Newspaper; Center for Radio, Television and Film, and the Publishing House of the Public Security Forces in recent time.

Major General Ha expressed his belief that, with the new organizational structure, new functions, new tasks and new working environment, all leaders, officers and workers of the Department for Information and Communications will unite to strive for its common goal, to work more effectively and fulfill all political tasks entrusted by the Party, the State and the Ministry of Public Security.
