Construction of new headquarters of Lang Son Police starts

PSNews - The Provincial Police Department of Lang Son hosted a ground-breaking ceremony for construction of its new headquarter in Mai Pha commune, Lang Son city.

The event saw the participation of Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Son, Deputy Minister of Public Security; Ms. Doan Thi Hau, Vice Permanent Chairperson of the Provincial People’s Council of Lang Son; Mr. Xuong Xuan Huyen, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee and representatives from relevant local departments and agencies.

The current headquarters of the Provincial Police was built 50 years ago with various facilities downgraded, failing to meet the working needs and requirements of the provincial police.

The project to build the new premises had been approved by the Central Party Committee of Public Security and leaders of the Ministry. Accordingly, the first phase of the project will cost 287 billion VND, including half funded by the MPS and the rest by the province.

The new headquarters built on an area of some 11.71 hectares, includes a 13-storey working building and a 500-seat hall as well as several other sub-projects.

In the second phase, more facilities like accommodations for officers, a mess, a guest house, a record center and a multi-purpose hall will be built, with total investment of some 150 billion VND.

The first phase expected to be completed in 2022.

Speaking at the event, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Son expressed his gratitude for the support from the authorities and people of Lang Son for the Provincial Police. He also thanked the local authorities for their financial support for the project when the province faces difficulties in budget.

He also asked the contractors and relevant parties to cooperate closely and ensure the construction progress, quality and architecture of the project.
