At the show, artists staged stories featuring the great effort of the Public Security Forces in the fight against COVID-19, and portraying the Vietnam People’s Public Security Forces, who are always ready to sacrifice themselves to protect the peaceful life of the people amidst the pandemic.

Following the call of the Party and the State, some 150,000 officers and soldiers voluntarily joined common efforts to fight against the pandemic. Additionally, nearly 2,000 medical staff from public security hospitals voluntarily came to epicenters to run field hospitals and treat COVID-19 patients.

During the battle against the pandemic, some 10,000 police officers and soldiers got infected with the virus, of which some 1,000 are still in critical conditions.

Among them, 17 police officers laid down their lives and several were also injured while on duty.

In the context of the epidemic, the Public Security Forces continued to complete their main tasks of preventing and fighting crimes, especially criminals who took advantage of cyberspace to sabotage the pandemic prevention and control policies of the Party and State; economic crime related to making illegal profits from purchasing medical supplies for the fight against COVID-19, and drug crime, thereby contributing to ensuring social order and safety.

Speaking at the event, on behalf of the Public Security Central Party Committee and leaders of the Ministry of Public Security, Deputy Minister of Public Security Nguyen Van Son expressed sincere thanks to the central agencies, ministries, local authorities and branches for their supports for the Public Security Forces over the past time. He also appreciated businesses and people nationwide for their close coordination and support for the Public Security Forces in fulfilling their duties during the fight against COVID-19.

He once again stressed that the contributions and sacrifices during the pandemic of the Public Security Forces have embellished the heroic tradition of the forces in the cause of protecting national security.

The Head of the Steering Committee for Disease Prevention and Control under the Ministry of Public Security also expressed his great respect and condolences to the comrades who had laid down their lives in the fight against the COVID-19 epidemic.
