75th founding anniversary of Public Security Forces marked

PSNews - The Public Security Central Party Committee and the Ministry of Public Security organized a solemn ceremony on August 16 in Hanoi to mark the 75th founding anniversary of the Vietnam People’s Public Security Forces and the 15th “All People Protecting National Security” Festive Day as well as to receive the first-class “Feat of Arms” Order.

The event saw the presence of the Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc; current and former members of the Politburo, the Party Central Committee’s Secretariat; leaders of Central-level agencies, mass organizations, local authorities and military units, as well as representatives of embassies and international organizations in Hanoi, along with delegates and typical examples of the Public Security Forces.

At the ceremony, General To Lam, Minister of Public Security, reviewed the 75-year glorious history of the Public Security Forces.

According to Minister To Lam, over the past 75 years, the Public Security Forces have overcome all challenges and difficulties to excellently complete all missions assigned by the Party, State and people. The forces have always been loyal and followed the revolutionary path chosen by the Party, President Ho Chi Minh and Vietnam.

Especially, the People’s Public Security Forces stood side by side with the People’s Army and authorities at all levels in building and defending the Fatherland, protecting the Party and the socialist regime, and safeguarding the peaceful and happy life for the people. The forces also well performed Vietnam’s international duties and expanded cooperation with international partners in line with the Party’s guidelines on international integration.

Minister To Lam also said that, since the Prime Minister’s Decision No. 521/QD-TTg dated June 13, 2005 adopting August 19 as the “All People Protecting National Security” Festive Day, the Ministry of Public Security, the Party committees and authorities at all levels have directed the annual Festive Day with various practical meaningful activities.

The day has served an occasion for the entire people to demonstrate their concerted power and resolve to join the Public Security Forces and the political system in fighting against sabotage plots and activities by hostile forces, preventing and controlling crimes of all kinds as well as protecting national security, maintaining social order and safety, contributing to the country’s socio-economic development and international integration.

On behalf of the Party and the State, Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc congratulated the entire Public Security Forces on their founding anniversary. He also expressed deep gratitude to generations of public security officers and soldiers, families of public security martyrs and wounded soldiers for their great contributions to the country’s achievements.

Given the complex political situations in the region and the world, along with challenges posed by the Fourth Industrial Revolution and non-traditional security issues like climate change and pandemics, PM Phuc emphasized the need to always put the Public Security Forces under the comprehensive and direct leadership of the Party, the command of the State President and the management of the Government in any situations.

The forces should seriouly and effectively implement the guidelines of the Party and the laws of the State on proactively safeguarding national security, maintaining social order and safety. In the near future, they should thoroughly prepare for the 7thPublic Security Party Congress, contributing to the success of the upcoming 13th National Party Congress.

The Prime Minister stressed that the Public Security Central Party Committee, the Ministry of Public Security as well as the public security units and agencies nationwide should actively grasp situations and give strategic advice to the Party, the State, and authorities at all level on strategies to effectively protect national interests and control crimes, with the aim of maintaining socio-political stability and creating an environment of peace, security and order for national development.

Prime Minister Nguyen Xuan Phuc affirmed that the 75th founding anniversary of the Public Security Forces and the 15th “All People Protecting National Security” Festive Day are an occasion for the Party, people and Public Security Forces to review the 75-year proud glorious tradition of the Vietnam People’s Public Security Forces, as well as to promote the forces’ working spirit “For the country to sacrifice, for the people to serve”.
