13th Public Security Television and Radio Festival takes place in Can Tho

PSNews – Senior Lieutenant General Tran Quoc To, Member of The Party Central Committee, Deputy Minister of Public Security, co-chair of the 13th Public Security Television and Radio Festival on October 12 presided over a meeting of the Organizing Committee. 

At the meeting, Major General Do Trieu Phong, Director of the Department for Information and Communications under the Ministry of Public Security, Head of the Organizing Committee briefed the delegates on the preparation for the festival.

The 13th Public Security Television and Radio Festival is to take place in Can Tho City from October 12 to 16 with the motto “Professional – Effective – Friendly.”

Both the opening and closing ceremonies of the festival will be held at Can Tho University on October 12 and October 16 respectively. Both ceremonies will be broadcast live on the ANTV channel and the channel of Can Tho Radio and Television.

The 13th Public Security Television and Radio Festival gathers nearly 800 participants who are reporters and editors working within or outside the Public Security Forces across the country.

Of the 74 delegations participating in the festival, there are 66 teams from local police units and 8 teams from press agencies outside the Public Security Forces.

This year’s festival consists of 5 compulsory categories: journalism works on security and order; art and specialized program; public security and order program; radio program on security and order; and television master of ceremonies (MC). The organizing committee has received nearly 600 entries prior to the festival.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister Tran Quoc To highly appreciated the preparation for the organization of this year’s festival.

The Deputy Minister also stated that, Can Tho City is the political, economic and cultural center of the Mekong Delta. Therefore, the Central Party Committee of Public Security and Vietnam Television has chosen Can Tho City as the host of the 13th Public Security Television and Radio Festival.

Deputy Minister Tran Quoc To also requested the organizing committee to completing some existing issues to ensure the success of the festival. After the meeting, Deputy Minister Tran Quoc To also inspected the preparation and rehearsal of the opening ceremony of the festival in Can Tho University.

Earlier on same day, a delegation led by Deputy Minister Tran Quoc To visited and paid tribute at the Hung Kings Temple in Binh Thuy District, Can Tho City.
