Vietnam, Russia strengthen cooperation in security and law enforcement

Minister of Public Security General Luong Tam Quang hosted a meeting with Assistant to the President and Chairman of the Maritime Council of the Russian Federation Nikolai Patrushev on September 16 in Hanoi.

Overview of the meeting.

At the meeting with  Mr. Patrushev and the Russian delegation at the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam, Minister Luong Tam Quang affirmed that Vietnam always attaches special importance to consolidating and further developing the traditional friendship and Comprehensive Strategic Partnership with Russia in all fields.

The Minister stressed that, over the past years, multifaceted cooperation between the two countries has developed positively in line with their common interests, becoming a priceless asset of the two peoples and a model of traditional friendship and mutually beneficial cooperation in international relations.

He underlined that security and law enforcement cooperation has always been a valued pillar in bilateral relations and yielded comprehensive positive practical outcomes, contributing to cementing political trust between the two countries.

At the meeting, the two sides agreed to continue delegation exchanges at all levels, especially high-level visits, to effectively implement signed agreements and cooperation mechanisms. 

They also consented to enhance collaboration in security, training, scientific research and technology application and transfer, while maintaining close coordination and consultation at multilateral security forums.
