Within the framework of his working visit to Hungary from September 12-16, Deputy Minister of Public Security Lieutenant General Le Quoc Hung had a meeting with Minister of State in charge of law enforcement in the Hungarian Interior Ministry Bolcsik Zoltan, on September 14.

At the meeting, Deputy Minister Le Quoc Hung assessed that the cooperative relationship between the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam with the Ministry of the Interior of Hungary and other Hungarian law enforcement agencies saw positive developments in information exchange and experience sharing as well as in building capacity of law enforcement personnel and verifying criminal cases related to citizens of the two countries. 

The two sides signed and effectively implemented a number of cooperation documents such as: extradition agreement; agreement on transfer of persons sentenced to prison; agreement on mutual legal assistance in civil and criminal matters; memorandum of understanding on cooperation in immigration management.

Mr. Bolcsik Zoltan assessed that the Vietnamese community in Hungary always obeys local laws, contributing positively to the development of Hungary as well as the relationship between the two countries.

He affirmed that the Hungarian Ministry of the Interior is ready to help, create favorable conditions, and simplify visa procedures for Vietnamese citizens to do business and live legally and equally in the country.

To promote cooperation in fighting crime and protecting security and order in each country, based on the cooperation agreements between the two governments and two ministries, the two sides agreed to further expand cooperation in opening training courses and building capacity of law enforcement officers of the two ministries, especially those in charge of countering illicit drug-related crime, economic crime, and crime with the use of high technology.

The two sides also agreed to strengthen cooperation in ensuring network security, protecting national data, applying information technology to build and manage national data centers and develop crime science.
