Vietnam and Russia agree to promote security cooperation

Deputy Minister of Public Security Senior Lieutenant General Luong Tam Quang hosted an official welcome ceremony for a high-ranking delegation of the Security Council of Russia led by its Deputy Secretary Venediktov Aleksandr Nikolaevich.

Deputy Minister of Public Security Senior Lieutenant General Luong Tam Quang and Deputy Secretary of the Security Council of Russia Venediktov Aleksandr Nikolaevich.

Later, Deputy Minister Quang and Mr. Venediktov Aleksandr Nikolaevich co-chaired a consultation on security issues in the region and the world.

The two sides discussed the global and regional security situations and issues related to national security of each country.

The two sides saw the need to enhance coordination in preventing and fighting terrorism, transnational crime, cybercrime as well as in ensuring safety for their citizens staying abroad and cooperation in developing security industry.

Deputy Minister Quang highlighted the significance of the Russian delegation’s visit, saying that it would contribute to deepening the traditional relationship between the Ministry of Public Security of Vietnam and Russian law enforcement agencies in particular and the comprehensive strategic partnership between Vietnam and the Russian Federation in general.

He also urged the two sides to strengthen exchange of delegations at all levels, promote cooperation on the basis of mutual trust and continue to effectively implement the signed documents.
