Politburo holds working session with Public Security Central Party Committee

PSNews - Party General Secretary and State President Nguyen Phu Trong chaired a working session on September 21 between the Politburo and the Standing Board of the Public Security Central Party Committee (PSCPC) to review draft documents for the 7th Public Security Party Congress and the list of OK9 Cabidates for the PSCPC of the 2020-2025 term.

On behalf of the PSCPC, Senior Lieutenant General Le Quy Vuong, Member of the Party Central Committee, Deputy Secretary of the PSCPC and Deputy Minister of Public Security, presented the draft documents to be submitted at the 7th Public Security Party Congress.

According to Deputy Minister Vuong, the PSCPC has made the list of OK9 Cabidates for the PSCPC of the 2020-2025 term in a serious and democratic manner in line with the Politburo’s Decree No 35-CT/TW and guidelines of the Party Central Committee.

At the meeting, the Politburo’s members affirmed that the PSCPC has strictly followed the resolutions of the Party Central Committee and directives of the Politburo on Party building while promoting the movements "Building public security officers’ manners of bravery, humanity and devotedness to people", "Studying and following Uncle Ho’s six teachings" and the emulation movements "For National Security".

The Politburo also recognized the outstanding results of the PSCPC over the past time in directing the Public Security Forces to streamline their organizational apparatus for more effectiveness and efficiency.

The Politburo praised the forces for detecting and effectively preventing sabotage plots by reactionary forces and political opportunists, protecting the absolute safety of the country’s important political establishments and events, fighting manifestations of “self-evolution” and “self-transformation”, ensuring cyber security and safety, dealing with emerging issues regarding social safety and security in ethnic and religious groups, and actively joining in the fight against COVID-19.

Particularly, the Public Security Forces successfully prevented and controlled crimes of all kinds, including discovering major economic and corruption cases, eliminating complex drug trafficking rings, and “black credit” crime, among others.

Regarding its missions in the coming time, the Politburo stressed that the Public Security Party Organization should pay special attention to building the clean Party organization and the strong Public Security Forces loyal to the Party and close to the people.

At the working session, Party chief Nguyen Phu Trong highlighted the important position and role of the People’s Public Security Forces, saying that together with the People’s Army, the People’s Public Security Forces serve as both sword and shield to maintain political security, social safety and order, and creating a favorable environment for national construction and defense.

He asked the forces to continue renovating their operational methods in accordance with the reality in the country’s global integration period. The Party chief stressed that the Public Security Forces should always grasp and exactly forecast the situation to draw up good plans to accomplish their task of maintaining security and safety in the new situation.

On this occasion, Party General Secretary and State President Nguyen Phu Trong wished big success to the 7th Public Security Party Congress, saying that it will open a new period of development for the Public Security Forces.

On behalf of the PSCPC and the Ministry of Public Security, Minister To Lam thanked the Party leader and the Politburo for their sound and specific directions. He promised to direct the Public Security Forces to concretize the directions into the forces’ working plans in the next term.
