Northern public security units review Party and political work in first half of 2020

PSNews - The Ministry of Public Security (MPS) on June 15 held a meeting in Ha Nam province to review Party and political work of public security units and agencies in the Northern region in the first half of 2020.

Senior Lieutenant General Nguyen Van Thanh, Member of the Party Central Committee and Deputy Minister of Public Security, attended and delivered a keynote speech at the meeting.

Reports at the meeting read that, over the past six months, under the leadership of the Public Security Central Party Committee and the MPS, the Party committees of all Northern public security units and agencies have led their Party organizations to focus on Party and political work. So, the Party and political work of the Northern public security agencies and units has achieved positive results.

Particularly, the Northern public security agencies and units have opened training courses on the organization of Party congresses of Party organizations in the People's Public Security Forces in the 2020-2025 term and the 7th Public Security Central Party Congress in the 2020-2025 term. They also paid due attention to strengthening the Party organizations while improving the quality of public security officers and Party members.

Meanwhile, the movement “Public Security Forces studying and following Uncle Ho’s six teachings”, the emulation movement "For Homeland Security" and the movement “Building public security officers’ manners of bravery, humanity and devotedness to people” have been promoted with various creative forms and contents while good examples with outstanding achievements in those movements have been promptly honored and popularized.

The Northern public security agencies and units also carried out many ideological and political education drives as well as cultural activities, public arts festivals and sports competitions in celebration of the 75th People’s Public Security Forces’ Traditional Day, the 15th “All People Protecting National Security” Festive Day, the 90th Founding Anniversary of the Vietnam Communist Party, and the 130th President Ho Chi Minh’s Birthday.

At the meeting, delegates reviewed and evaluated the party and political work results of the Public Security Forces in the Northern region over the first half of 2020 as well as proposed measures to overcome difficulties in the time to come.

Speaking at the meeting, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Thanh stated that, in the coming time, the Party committees and leaders of the public security units and agencies in the North should attach great importance to Party building and political education, and consider it as an important mission in developing clean and strong People’s Public Security Forces.

They were also requested to successfully organize Party congresses at all levels in the People’s Public Security Forces in preparation for the 7th Public Security Central Party Congress and the 13th National Party Congress.

Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Thanh asked the public security units and agencies in the North to promote ideological and political education in line with the appointment of cadres. They should regularly check public security officers and soldiers for their observance of the Public Security Forces’ regulations and discipline. They should also promptly praise and popularize heroic examples of the forces in national security and social order protection, contributing to building a beautiful image of the Public Security Forces in the people’s hearts.
