MPS, VTV sign coordination deal

The Ministry of Public Security (MPS) and Vietnam Television (VTV) held a meeting on April 22 to review results of their 2014 – 2020 coordination program and sign a new coordination deal for the next five-year period.

Deputy Minister of Public Security Senior Lieutenant General Luong Tam Quang and General Director of VTV Le Ngoc Quang co-chaired the event.

At the meeting, delegates were briefed on the results of the 2014 - 2020 coordination program between the MPS and VTV.

According to the report, over the past time, the two sides have coordinated to popularized the Party and State’s guidelines, policies, and solutions on protecting national security, maintaining social safety and building the People's Public Security Forces.

Within the bilateral coordination program, VTV has increased the news coverage of the work and achievements of the People's Public Security Forces, especially in safeguarding the country, wholeheartedly serving the people, conducting fire-fighting and rescue missions, participating in natural disaster relief, pandemic prevention and control.

Their coordination has contributed to ensuring domestic political security, maintaining national security and the safety of the national television system, and protecting the copyright of programs of VTV.

At the meeting, Deputy Minister Luong Tam Quang and Mr. Le Ngoc Quang signed a new coordination deal between the two agencies.

On behalf of VTV, General Director Le Ngoc Quang thanked the MPS leadership and the Public Security Forces for supporting VTV to complete its political missions over the past years.

For his part, Deputy Minister Luong Tam Quang thanked VTV for its effective coordination with the Public Security Forces and hoped that the national television would further coordinate with the  Public Security Forces in ensuring information security and popularizing good images of the forces in the coming time.

The Deputy Minister stated that the newly-signed coordination agreement will create an important mechanism and legal corridor for the two agencies to coordinate more comprehensively, regularly and closely in all aspects of work related to the functions and tasks of each side.

On this occasion, Deputy Minister Luong Tam Quang awarded the medal "National Security Protection" to VTV General Director Le Ngoc Quang, Deputy General Director Do Thanh Hai and leaders of various VTV units.
