MPS opens training course on journalism and communication

The Ministry of Public Security’s Communications Department, in coordination with the Son La Provincial Police Department, opened a 2026 journalism and communications training course, on May 14, in Son La Province, for more than 300 reporters, editors and communications officers working in the People’s Public Security Forces.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Senior Colonel Nguyen Thi Thu Hang, Deputy Director of the Communications Department, stressed that public security press and media should continue to renew their mindsets, augment modern communication skills, play a key role in protecting the Party’s ideological foundation, combating false and hostile information, and promote the positive image of the public security officer wholeheartedly serving the people.

According to the organizers, Son La has been selected to host the training course and the communications program “For Peaceful Villages” in order to connect journalism activities with realities in the grassroots, especially border remote areas home to ethnic minority groups.

During the program, the attendees are trained in digital communications, skills to make multimedia journalism products, the application of AI in journalism, skills to post information in cyberspace and create podcast pieces.

Immediately after the opening ceremony, the trainees attended a seminar on identifying and countering harmful information on social media, presented by a representative of the Central Steering Committee 35 Office.

Earlier on the same day, all trainers and trainees offered incense in tribute to heroic fallen at the Tay Tien Regiment 52 historical site in Moc Chau.
