Addressing the working session, Minister Luong Tam Quang acknowledged and commended the Quang Ninh Provincial Police Force on its achievements in recent times.

The Minister emphasized that, with the new thinking and perception of the Party on security protection reflected in the documents of the 14th National Party Congress, the People’s Public Security Forces, including the Quang Ninh Provincial Police Force, are undertaking new and honorable responsibilities.

He stressed that the highest objective of safeguarding security and order in the new period is to maintain Vietnam’s position as one of the world’s leading countries in terms of safety and security, as well as to significantly reduce the crime rate with a view to building a crime-free society.

Minister Luong Tam Quang requested that the Quang Ninh Provincial Police Department effectively perform its function as a staff body, advising the Quang Ninh Provincial Party Committee on the implementation of the Resolution of the 14th National Party Congress and key resolutions of the Politburo on public order and security.

He also asked the Quang Ninh Police Force to take the lead in implementing the Resolution of the 14th National Party Congress, the Party’s policies and strategies as well as the Resolution of the 8th Congress of the Public Security Central Party Committee, bringing about practical and measurable results.

The Minister noted that the Quang Ninh Provincial Police Department should firmly safeguard national security, sustainably reduce the crime rate, the numbers of traffic accidents and fire and explosion incidents in the province, and achieve targets of building “drug-free communes” in the progress of striving for “crime-free communes.”

As the province shares a borderline with China, the Minister also requested the Quang Ninh Provincial Police Department to play a pioneering role in implementing the Party’s policies on foreign affairs and international integration, thereby contributing to creating a new momentum and resources for national development.

On behalf of the Quang Ninh Provincial Police Department, its Director Major General Nguyen Tien Trung expressed sincere appreciation for the direction and guidance of the Minister and the delegation.

He affirmed that the Quang Ninh Provincial Police Force would thoroughly study the minister’s instructions, promptly translate them into its concrete work programs and plans. According to him, the local police are determined to successfully fulfill all assigned tasks, contributing to maintaining political security and social order and safety in the province.
