Leaders of MoD congratulate PSF on their 73rd Traditional Day

PSNews – The Ministry of Defense (MoD) and the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) on August 16 organized a meeting to celebrate the 73rd Traditional Day of the Public Security Forces (August 19, 1945 – 2018).

The event saw the presence of Senior Lieutenant General To Lam, Member of the Politburo, Secretary of the Public Security Central Party Committee, Minister of Public Security; General Ngo Xuan Lich, Member of the Politburo, Deputy Secretary of the Central Military Commission, Minister of Defense and various leaders of the two ministries.

Speaking at the meeting, General Ngo Xuan Lich extended congratulations to the Public Security Central Party Committee, the leaders of the MPS and the officers and soldiers of the Public Security Forces (PSF) on the 73rd anniversary of the PSF.  

He stressed that the military and PSF have always united to strive to accomplish all given tasks, as well as to serve as a firm and reliable support of the Party, the State and the people.

General Lich expressed his belief that the military and PSF always place themselves under the absolute, direct and comprehensive leadership of the Party in any circumstances, and always promote close coordination and unity to excellently accomplish the tasks assigned by Party, State and the people.

Minister To Lam thanked the Minister of Defense for his acknowledgment of the fine outcomes of the PSF in ensuing security and order as well as the close cooperation between the two ministries in the past time. He also thanked all members of the Central Military Commission, leaders of the MoD for their sentiments and kind greetings to the PSF on the 73rd Traditional Day of the PSF.

Minister Lam emphasized that under the leadership of the Party, the National Assembly and the Government, with the close and effective coordination of relevant ministries, branches and localities, particularly the MoD, and supports of the people for the PSF, the PSF took the lead in implementing the Resolution of the 6th Meeting of the 12th Party Central Committee.

The MPS proactively proposed a master project to streamline its structure and the PSF, and has now achieved initial results. Moreover, the MPS well performed its advisory role, and conducted effectively all operations to ensure security and order, successfully meeting all set objectives.

Minister Lam affirmed that the MoD had made a positive contribution to the achievements of the PSF in ensuring political stability, laying a firm foundation for socio-economic development and expansion of foreign relations of the country.

The leader of the MPS hoped to receive more supports from the Central Military Commission and the MoD so that the PSF can complete their main missions of ensuring security, order and building the PSF in the time to come.
