During the visit, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Long held talks with Secretary of Security of the Argentine Nation Alejandra Monteoliva.

Speaking at the talks, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Long highly appreciated the signing of a number of cooperation agreements and memorandums of understanding between Vietnam and Argentina on crime prevention and law enforcement, stressing that those agreements established a firm legal framework for the collaboration between the law enforcement agencies of the two countries, contributing to ensuring security and social order and safety in each country.

At the talks, the two sides agreed to develop plans and mechanisms to effectively implement the signed agreements between the two countries as well as strengthen cooperation in exchanging information about transnational crimes, such as human trafficking, drug-related crimes, money laundering, environmental crimes and high-tech crimes.

Additionally, both sides pledged to strengthen cooperation in immigration management, particularly in combating illegal immigration and managing residency of foreign nationals in each country.

They also agreed to jointly organize training and capacity-building programs for personnel of both ministries, aiming to enhance the professional expertise of the respective law enforcement forces of the two countries.

On this occasion, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Long extended his deep condolences to the people of Bahia Blanca, Buenos Aires, who had suffered severe casualties and property losses due to the flood on March 7.

As part of the visit, Deputy Minister Nguyen Van Long and his delegation also laid flowers at the Ho Chi Minh Park in Buenos Aires as well as visited the Vietnam Embassy in Argentina.
