120,100 violations of environmental law handled

PSNews–The General Department of Police under the Ministry of Public Security (MPS) on May 30 organized a conference in Binh Duong on dissemination of laws on environment, natural resources and food safety.

Senior Colonel Tran Trong Binh, Vice Director of the Environment Police Department said that, over the past years, the Department has advised the leaders at all levels to issue a number of documents regulating environmental and natural resources protection, and food hygiene and safety; organized thousands of inter-branch inspections and detected and handled dozens of thousands of law violations.

After over 10 years of operation, the Environment Police force has detected and handled 120,100 cases of violation of laws on environment, natural resources and food safety.

Speaking at the event, Major General Le Tan Tao urged relevant agencies to study and suggest higher authorities to build and perfect the legal framework and policies on environment, natural resources and food hygiene and safety.

He also asked relevant agencies and units to promote observation and forecast of the situations of natural resources and environment; and study, apply and exchange technologies to tackle pollution, and environmental degradation and incidents while effectively exploiting and using natural resources and energy as well as applying and developing clean and environmental-friendly technologies.
