National Assembly passes Law on Mobile Police

The National Assembly of the 15th term passed the Law on Mobile Police by a 454/474 vote on June 14.

The newly-passed law defines 9 major missions and 7 power lines of the mobile police force. Accordingly, mobile police officers have power to use weapons, explosives, professional means and support equipment.

They can also carry weapons, explosives, professional means and support equipment into airports and on commercial flights in cases of fighting terrorists, rescuing hostages, suppressing armed subjects, escorting serious criminals, or protecting special shipments.

The mobile police force has the power to neutralize unmanned flying objects or other flying objects threatening security of protected or no-fly zones. The force may mobilize humans and assets of agencies, organizations and individuals in urgent case .

In anti-terror or hostage rescue operations, the force has authority to enter and request agencies, organizations and individuals to provide the design and layout of related areas, buildings, houses excluding those managed by the Ministry of Defense.

The law also defines policies for mobile police officers and the mobile police force. Accordingly, the State provides funding for the operation of the force, its headquarters, office buildings, accommodations, training facilities and other projects. The force is equipped with various weapons, function means, including planes, watercraft.

The mobile police’s formal uniform, insignia, pennon, badge and ID card the same as other forces of the Public Security Forces, but they also have special badges and documents for special missions as well as specific training outfits.
