NA launches a comprehensive inspection on marine economic activities

PSNews-The Standing Committee of the 14th National Assembly decided to establish a special team to inspect “The implementation of policies and legal regulations in exploiting, cultivating and processing seafood for economic development in conjunction with national defense and security”.

Mr. Vo Trong Viet, member of the Standing Committee of the National Assembly (NA), Chairman of the NA Committee for Defense and Security was assigned as the head of the inspector team.

The inspection will focus on four main issues: the promulgation, amendment, supplement and improvement of relevant policies and laws relating to exploiting, farming and processing seafood; the guidance and governance of the Government, Ministries and branches, People’s Committees at all levels; the implementation relevant policies and regulations in relations with ensuring national defense and security, including protecting national sovereignty, security, safety, crime prevention at sea, protection of marine environment and islands and the real situation of violations of laws in exploiting, cultivating and processing seafood in harmony with ensuring national defense and security

The inspection is expected to clarify the origin of achievements, limitations and shortcomings, and give advice and proposals to the NA to improve policies, laws and approaches to enhance the effectiveness ad efficiency of implementation of policies and regulations on exploiting, cultivating and processing seafood for the marine economic development in relations with ensuring national defense and security. The inspector team will also report their working results to the Standing Committee of the National Assembly in the session of September.
