Young bachelor raising 32 children

PSNews - Nguyen Thanh Tuan (Ward 3, Vinh Long City, Vinh Long province) is well-known among the local young people for his 32 adopted children.

This 33-year-old man is also known for his charitable activities, including his contributions to the construction of bridges, roads or houses as well as support to needy households in the Mekong Delta.

The Suoi Moi Café Charity Club, which was founded 3 years ago and has ever been run by Tuan, has attracted many local youngsters.

The club has raised some VND 8 billion local orphans and poor people.

Tuan, who was a son of a poor family, struggled with his life during his childhood. Having been inspired by a friend who offered free courses for local students, he decided to form a charity club with to the aim of supporting poor students and orphans.

Tuan managed to open a café and used a major part of the profits for charitable activities.

His charity fund also receives financial assistance from its members and oversea Vietnamese. To date, 32 children from various provinces such as Vinh Long, Dong Thap and Soc Trang are sponsored by the fund.

In addition to supporting poor students, Tuan also mobilized the community to contribute their labour and assets to building bridges and roads and water supply stations in rural areas.

“Tuan is enthusiastic and active in local charitable activities. For his good deeds, he has been awarded various certificates by Vinh Long province, President of the Vinh Long Provincial Youth Committee Bui Van Chieu.

Recently, Tuan was named as one of 80 outstanding individuals nationwide and was conferred on the “October 15” Award by the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Federation.

“I will continue carrying charitable activities especially in this Tet Holiday,” Tuan shared his future plans, “I have just received a bachelor degree of law, and I hope to find a position in local youth union or federation organizations to further support charitable activities.”
