This marks the first return of representatives from the New7Wonders organization in 15 years since Ha Long Bay was voted one of the new seven wonders of nature.

According to the Ha Long Bay – Yen Tu World Heritage Management Board, Jean-Paul de la Fuente, director of New7Wonders, recently visited Ha Long Bay to inspect preparations and assess conditions for the event.

The organisation plans to stage World 7 Wonders Day on a large scale, with participation expected from ambassadors, diplomatic representatives, international organisations based in Vietnam, delegates from countries within the G20 and G7 Wonders networks, key opinion leaders (KOLs) and numerous international media outlets.

The event will feature a range of promotional activities showcasing Ha Long Bay through visual campaigns, video productions and international media coverage aimed at boosting the global profile of the world natural wonder throughout 2026 and beyond.

New7Wonders will also cooperate with Vietnam’s Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism and Quang Ninh authorities to organise a thematic conference focused on the management, preservation and sustainable use of the new seven natural wonders title awarded to Ha Long Bay by the international community.

The concept design for the event in Ha Long Bay has been developed by New7Wonders organisation and will be finalised soon after the survey trip. The content will be discussed and agreed upon with relevant authorities before implementation.

The selection of the new seven wonders of nature, launched by New7Wonders in 2007, concluded on November 11, 2011, after three rounds of voting.

Ha Long Bay surpassed more than 400 nominated natural sites from over 200 countries and territories to enter the shortlist of 28 finalists before ultimately being selected among the world’s New Seven Natural Wonders.

The final list included Ha Long Bay alongside the Amazon rainforest (South America), Iguazu Falls (Argentina and Brazil), Jeju Island (Republic of Korea), Komodo National Park (Indonesia), the Puerto Princesa Subterranean River National Park (Philippines), and Table Mountain (South Africa).
