Vietnamese students win prizes at REGENERON ISEF 2021

Several Vietnamese students have been awarded prizes at REGENERON ISEF 2021, including one group winning the third-place prize, whilst two special prizes were given by Science - Technology and Enterprise organizations.

Vietnamese students win prizes at REGENERON ISEF 2021 

A Vietnamese project has won the third prize at the 2021 Regeneron ISEF Grand Awards, making Vietnam one of 34 countries and territories to be honored among 81 taking part. The project on robot arms for the disabled with full arm paralysis by Pham Duc Linh and Nguyen Duc An from Han Thuyen High School in the northern province of Bac Ninh obtained the prize.

The “Psychological difficulties in online learning of high school students” project entered by Hoang Viet Phuc and Vu Phuong Mai of Lao Cai High School for the Gifted was given a special prize awarded by Science - Technology and Enterprise organizations.

This is along with the “Stimulating mathematical thinking through a system of geometry exercises and games designed with Scratch software” project by Huynh Dang Khoa and Le Anh Chau of Nguyen Tri Phuong Secondary School in Thua Thien Hue province which also won a special prize.

This year has seen the International Science and Engineering Fair (ISEF 2021) competition, known as “REGENERON ISEF 2021”, attract the participation of 1,893 students from 81 countries and territories globally, with 1,431 projects submitted.

The competition was held online in the US from May 3-6, with 1,431 projects from 81 countries and territories. Vietnam sent seven projects to the event. There were 382 winners, accounting for 26.67%.

In total, students from the nation sent seven projects to compete in REGENERON ISEF 2021.
