Vietnam wins seat in Universal Postal Union

Vietnam has been elected to the Council of Administration of the Universal Postal Union, the main United Nation's decision-making body responsible for the development and cooperation of international postal services.

Vietnam won the seat on October 5 at the 26th UPU Congress that ran October 1-7 in Istanbul, Turkey.

In addition, the Vietnam Post Corporation announced that its staff artist Nguyen Du claimed the first prize at the event in a competition to design an international reply coupon.

The congress is held every four years and the last congress was held in Doha, Qatar.

More than 2,500 representatives from 192 countries participated in the congress.
