Hang made the statement in response to reporters’ query regarding the DPRK-US summit outcomes in Hanoi on June 12.

The spokesperson emphasised Vietnam’s persistent stance on supporting denuclearisation, peace and stability on the Korean Peninsula, and settling all issues by peaceful measures and on the basis of international law.

“We hope that the implementation of agreements reached at the DPRK-US summit will bring about positive results, contributing to maintaining peace, stability, cooperation and development in Northeast Asia and the world,” Hang said.

The US-DPRK meeting occurred at 9am on June 12 (local time) at Capella Hotel on Sentosa Island.

DPRK’s leader Kim Jong Un and US President Donald Trump signed a document after their talks in which Kim reaffirmed his commitment to "work toward complete denuclearisation of the Korean Peninsula", without giving further details, according to international media.
