Vietnam to host World Travel Awards 2022’s Gala

PSNews - The gala ceremony of the World Travel Awards for Asia and Oceania will talke place on September in Ho Chi Minh City, according to the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism (VNAT).

On its website, World Travel Awards affirmed that the Asia & Oceania Gala Ceremony 2022 will take place on September 7 in Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam.

World Travel Awards described Ho Chi Minh City as a metropolis of boundless energy that draws together old and new Vietnam, representing the city’s past as well as its future. Wander through alleys and markets, explore the temples, and discover the designer malls beneath soaring skyscrapers in this fascinating fusion of different worlds.

"Ho Chi Minh City is steeped in some of the most important modern history in the world. If you want to learn more about the period of reunification in Vietnam, then you can visit monuments, museums and spots used during the war like the Cu Chi Tunnels", it said. 

Walk down Dong Khoi Street to acquaint yourself with the Notre Dame Cathedral, the city’s Central Post Office, and the Saigon Opera House. On a more local level, Ben Thanh Market and the Jade Emperor Pagoda are must sees.

Earlier, Vietnam has made an impressive comeback with ten nominated categories at the World Travel Awards 2022, according to VNAT.

Specifically, Vietnam was nominated for awards in the Asian region for Leading Destination, Leading Sustainable Tourism Destination, Leading Heritage Destination, Leading Cultural Destination, Leading Nature Destination, Leading Youth Travel Destination, Leading Beach Destination, and Asia’s Leading Tourist Board.

Vietnam won 32 awards at the World Travel Award 2021 for Asia region including the title of Asia’s Leading Destination, Asia’s Leading Sustainable Tourism Destination, and Asia’s Leading Tourist Board.

World Travel Awards was established in 1993 to acknowledge, reward and celebrate excellence across all key sectors of the travel, tourism and hospitality industries. Today, the World Travel Award brand is recognised globally as the ultimate hallmark of industry excellence.
