Vietnam NA leader arrives in Saint Petersburg for IPU-137

A high-level Vietnamese NA delegation led by the National Assembly Chair Nguyen Thi Kim Ngan arrived in Pulkuvo airport, Saint Petersburg on October 14 to attend the 137th Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU-137), and related meetings.

The visit was made at the invitation of IPU President Saber Chowdhury, Chairwoman of the Federation Council of Russia Valentina Ivanovna Matviyenko, and Chairman of the State Duma of Russia Vyacheslav Volodin. 

The top legislator and her entourage were warmly received by Vietnam Ambassador to Russia Nguyen Thanh Son and Vietnamese embassy staff.

According to a working agenda,  she will deliver a keynote speech at the plenary session in which, Ngan will propose ideas on strengthening the role of the IPU in promoting the diversification of culture and peace by creating a dialogue between different religions and ethnicities.

Vietnam NA delegation will partake in discussions on the working agenda and gave speeches at related meetings.
