A welcome ceremony for the delegation of the Vietnam People's Army was hosted by Vice Chairman of the Central Military Commission of China, Senior Lieutenant General Fan Changlong in Yunnan Province, China.

During bilateral talks held later at the border guard command of Jinping country in China’s Yunnan province, Senior Lieutenant General Fan Changlong noted that the solidarity between both sides’ border guard forces has actively contributed to ensuring the stability and development in the border areas of the two countries.

“Through border exchanges, the trust between the Vietnamese and Chinese armies and the two peoples has been reinforced,” said Senior Lieutenant General Fan Changlong, emphasizing that the trust is the foundations to enhance relations between the two Parties and armies, and to contribute to resolving disagreements and boosting relations and cooperation for mutual benefits of the two countries.

Thanking the Chinese side for the warm reception, General Ngo Xuan Lich hailed the success of the 4th Vietnam-China Border Defense Friendship Exchange. According to him, the program took place in unity, friendship and sincerity, showing the responsibility of the two countries' military forces.

He also commended both sides’ people and functional forces in contributing to building the borderline between Vietnam and China of peace, friendship and long-term development.

The two sides then signed the minutes on the 4th Vietnam-China Border Defense Friendship Exchange.

The Vietnamese delegation also visited a primary school near the Jin Shui He Border Gate of Yunnan province.

At the school, General Ngo Xuan Lich expressed delight and thanked the teachers and student at the school for the warm reception.

He emphasized the tradition of the Vietnamese and Chinese peoples’ studiousness and respect for their teachers, and hoped that the school’s students would become the seedlings for the future of China and for the solidarity and friendship between the peoples of Vietnam and China.
